MEYER NEPTUN Engineering, based in Rostock, is a start-up and the Meyer Group’s new competence center for green solutions on the blue oceans. We develop special purpose ships, research innovative forms of propulsion and create sustainable solutions.
With an initial 50 engineers, we want to start a new maritime movement as an innovation driver and global market leader. You will work in a networked team, with each other, but not always side by side.


Apply now as an Engineer (m/f/d) Research and Development

As a specialist or supervise nationally or internationally funded research and innovation projects. From the early application to the final project presentation, you will accompany the exciting projects for Meyer Neptun Engineering as well as the research towards „greener ships“. You are well aware of the cooperation with external partners. In your area of expertise, you will focus on the following focal points:

  • Formulation, planning and application of research projects in the company and in research consortia
  • Coordination with the funding institutio
  • Handling and coordination of projects within MNE and with external cooperation partners
  • Development and research work within the framework of the research projects
  • Communication of achieved results within the company and, if required, also externally
  • Exchange and professional representation of MNE in the research landscape
  • Identification of innovation potentials and participation in the further development of the research strategy of the MEYER Group

Here you always have the entire ship system in view. You master the close coordination with colleagues of the Meyer Group, external partners and sponsors confidently. You communicate proactively, act solution-oriented and meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master Shipbuilding, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in supervising research projects
  • Enjoyment of scientific work
  • Curiosity and innovative spirit
  • Knowledge of shipbuilding and/or marine engineering is desirable
  • Knowledge of common design software
  • Business fluent English and German
  • Commitment, flexibility and resilience
  • Planning and structured work
  • Teamwork
